On toddlers and pets

click for video: Quicktime version / Flash version

"It is obvious that art cannot teach anyone anything, since in four thousand years humanity has learnt nothing at all. We should long ago have become angels had we been capable of paying attention to the experience of art, and allowing ourselves to be changed in accordance with the ideals it expresses. Art only has the capacity to make the human soul receptive to good. It's ridiculous to imagine that people can be taught to be good... Art can only give good, a jolt, the occasion for psychical experience."

Just voodling on with some straight forward dog-meets-toddler-in garden footage adding synaesthetic blurs, Sam Renseiw ponders on Chris Marker and Tarkovsky work, trying to figure out things. in the lumiere bonus video ? no, i do not think so.
(have to read them again carefully - they would only apply to the lumiere bonus videos, not to the patafilms that seem to have no rules at all to follow)

well, the nice thing about rules is that it is a frame(work). one could always go to the edges and see if there might be some cracks or something on the other side, to discover.

The comment was for the BONUS video "manufactured according to Haugstrup Pedersen rules" !! and in those are stated: NO text, NO director credits.
I don't care ! I was just making an observation.
If you want the attention that comes with demonstrating such a manifesto....?!

( maby voodling makes my eyes go moire )

the vlogme05 manisfesto is somhow related, as far as i could understand; but:
the "lumiere" video rules are shorter, and, as far as i could see, do not state "no text" or "no director credits".
and, yes, you have a point.
voodling should be free.
