On now-that-it-is-time's furniture

click for video: Quicktime / Flash

"To have one's own furniture shown by a third party voodler who doesn't know that the furniture in question is itself furnishing the story being shown, that's a technical refinement."

While still dabbling with both crude editing software and of-the-shelf camcorder, Sam Renseiw refines the interior-walk-through voodle genre, amidst a fine, utterly ambiguous flock of furniture apparitions - with strong living room reminiscences. View the tracing of a short promenade architecturale, complete with moodle excerpt by clicking here or on the links above. (patafilm # 544, 01'54'', 11.9MB, Quicktime/mov - Flash version at blip.tv)

Today's Bonus Lumiere video features voyeuristic found-footage from the same space, simultaneously present, next to the above mentioned furniture. (Lum # 62 "found footage", 01'00, 6.1Mb, Quicktime/mov)

On the sensitivity to things

"My ambition, as voodler, my point, I would go so far as to say my fixation, my constant fixation, is primarily to concoct an artefact as original as it may be illuminating, an artefact that would, or just possibly might, act as a stimulant on notions of construction, of narration, of plotting, of action, a stimulant, in a word, on re-"reading" moving images of today."

Still imbued by a strong sense of mono no aware, Sam Renseiw collaged the recorded footage of yesterday into a mystified flow, complete with aural cosmic pow-pow and submerged signals. View the equestrian tinted voodle by clicking here or on the links above. (patafilm # 542, 02'40'', 16.2MB, Quicktime/mov - other versions for Pc at Blip.tv)

On toddlers and pets

"It is obvious that art cannot teach anyone anything, since in four thousand years humanity has learnt nothing at all. We should long ago have become angels had we been capable of paying attention to the experience of art, and allowing ourselves to be changed in accordance with the ideals it expresses. Art only has the capacity to make the human soul receptive to good. It's ridiculous to imagine that people can be taught to be good... Art can only give good, a jolt, the occasion for psychical experience."

Just voodling on with some straight forward dog-meets-toddler-in garden footage adding synaesthetic blurs, Sam Renseiw ponders on Chris Marker and Tarkovsky work, trying to figure out things.
