On blind-voodling furniture for spaceships

"Being an “un-fair” - a mirror event of the actual fair - our means of expression will include spectacular surprises from the Scandinavian contemporary underground - in music, dance, art and magic - celebrating the inception of still “un-designed” & “un-manufactured” products and spaces - addressing the scene’s urgent need for fun, beauty, meaning and action. The Space Ship Earth Salon is scheduled for apparition at major events in design and architecture internationally. Its aim is to advocate an optimistic view of science, technology and reality production, radical strategies for intelligent design - and the free exploration of the human body - including inner and outer space."

Momentarily blinded by circumstances, Sam Renseiw donned his magic exile goggles and migrated to Stockholm. Guided by a young & utterly beautiful young lady, Renseiw managed to record some useful footage at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and vicinity locations. View the visual Braille-mash with superb added dub by clicking here or on the links above. (patalab blind-voodle #01, 06'26'', 57.5Mb, Quicktime/mov - other versions at Blip.tv)

On outer and inner space walks (5)

"There's a icon on this page, Maxine, just above. It's a portal and it takes you inside Sam Renseiw....You'll see some fine old parts of Kyoto through Renseiw's eyes... and then after about 8 minutes, you're spit out... Anyway, the point is... this is a very odd thing... I mean, it raises all sorts of philosophical-type questions, you know... about the nature of self, about the existence of a soul. You know, am I me? Is Renseiw Renseiw? Do you see what a metaphysical can of worms this portal is? "

Taking the voodling point of view further into the realm of the specific, Sam Renseiw re-fitted the captured (pulled) footage, adding one more vantage point to the seen, propelling the simple act of seeing into quite a dazzling, reflective and thus generically reflective, topic. View the unfolding of the outer gaze, complete with the re-enclosed, enhanced original soundtrack by clicking here or on the links above. On the art of memory mapping

click for: Quicktime version / Flash version

"In that Empire, the Art of cartography attained such Perfection that the map of a single Province occupied the entirety of a City, and the map of the Empire, the entirety of a Province. In time, those Disproportionated Maps no longer satisfied, and the Cartographers Guilds built a Map of the Empire whose size was that of the Empire, and which coincided accurately with it."

Further mapping the tracing of his eye, Sam Renseiw encountered some memory moves i real time and framed them, with two slight cuts. View the reconfigurations of slightly inconspicuous variations by clicking here or on the links above. (patafilm # 403, 01'11'', 5.6 MB, Quicktime/mov - Flash version at blip.tv)

On The Persistence of Memory and Context

click for: Quicktime version / Flash version

"Memory has three different aspects: memory when it remembers things, imagination when it alters or imitates them, and invention when it gives them a new turn or puts them into proper arrangement and relationship. For these reasons the poets called memory the mother of the Muses."

"Not to know one's way in a city doesn't signify much. But to lose oneself in a city as one loses oneself in a forest calls for schooling" muses Sam Renseiw paraphrasing Benjamin, thus vaguely remembering a questionnaire session after walking the invisible reality show last November. Re-view the world as thing and image q/a video by clicking here or on the links above - and fill in the audio-blanks yourself- visual poetry and the continuity of silent pata-language... although: we must look straight at objects and not squint, for in that case the eyes do not see that at which they look, but rather distorts and confuses it...yet: the squint is crucial in providing the aslant view that makes the object new. Just dust falls from demagnetized patterns

"Hence a knowledge of the time sequences of values of about 1.2 sites suffice in principle to determine the values of all other sites. In practice however the function which gives the initial configuration in terms of these temporal sequences seems rapidly to become intractably complicated.."

While studying the hanging of flat space-time-patterns according to evolution and starting from a typical disordered initial state, Sam Renseiw captured embedded footage, to be viewed via here or by clicking on the right patterns on the icon above. - Remember to discover the many lovely and instructive sub-links scattered in the text. Helsinki secrets

“…Today the very idea of artistic re-presentation is being discussed. After the deconstructive and meta-fictional pointing out of esthetic-rhetorical patterns in each work, it is understandable that the interest is now directed toward that which conditions or lies outside esthetic representation. This is why ethical questions become relevant in a digital world that otherwise makes each and every simulacrum possible. What a splendid liberation from the world, what unsuspected possibilities of esthetic manipulation, one might say!…”A Sam Renseiw pataquote about Idiocy, Foolishness, and Spastic Jesting. What all this might have to do with Helsinki, can be viewed here or by clicking on the icon above. (00'34, 2,4 MB, mov/quicktime)

Automated pre-synaesthesia

Ideally the intermedia tools would encompass multiple platforms, and be scalable from a text only interface to an immersive Virtual Environment. The media should be scaled or transformed by the environment in which they are experienced. The final media output should be the result of negotiations between internal rules associated with each element(or group of elements) and the external conditions/obstacles created by the environment……
