On outer and inner space walks (5)

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPod/iPhone / direct streaming for PC

"There's a icon on this page, Maxine, just above. It's a portal and it takes you inside Sam Renseiw....You'll see some fine old parts of Kyoto through Renseiw's eyes... and then after about 8 minutes, you're spit out... Anyway, the point is... this is a very odd thing... I mean, it raises all sorts of philosophical-type questions, you know... about the nature of self, about the existence of a soul. You know, am I me? Is Renseiw Renseiw? Do you see what a metaphysical can of worms this portal is? "

Taking the voodling point of view further into the realm of the specific, Sam Renseiw re-fitted the captured (pulled) footage, adding one more vantage point to the seen, propelling the simple act of seeing into quite a dazzling, reflective and thus generically reflective, topic. View the unfolding of the outer gaze, complete with the re-enclosed, enhanced original soundtrack by clicking here or on the links above. (patafilm # 645 [©], 08'04'', 42.2MB, Quicktime/mov - other versions at Blip.tv)

Today's Bonus Lumiere Video features a more still, serene moment of reflection. (Lum # 164,"morning reflection(s)" 00'59'', 4.6MB, Quickime/mov)

Ofelia's delicate line of balance

According to Ayurveda, being in balance means that we live in tune with our particular nature, which we are each born with. Being in balance means our body mobilizes its own perfectly attuned defense system to keep us well. It seems implicit in Ayurvedic tradition to treat not only physical inorganic level, but also non-physical biological, social and intellect levels as well. Mental stress, arising from our social interactions with others, become physical illnesses affecting biological level moral codes. Intellect level cannot treat biological level moral codes directly, but must first address social environment stress.

The delicate subject of everyday stress management. Enjoy a delicate moment of balance, caught by Renseiw in circus mood. Or enter by clicking on the red bat.

i began to hunger for wild sensations

” But when the restraining influence of the school was at a distance I began to hunger again for wild sensations, for the escape which those chronicles of disorder alone seemed to offer me. The mimic warfare of the evening became at last as wearisome to me as the routine of school in the morning because I wanted real adventures to happen to myself. But real adventures, I reflected, do not happen to people who remain in schools: they must be sought elsewhere.”

From a recent school opening: A genuine Sam R. glimpse, with a somewhat Howard Hawks’s shadowy focus. Enter here or glide in the crowd on the icon above.

i found a strange handkerchief in my pocket

“…We did not really enjoy ourselves. When we got back home, I found a strange handkerchief in my pocket. Heaven knows how it had ended up there… The strange thing about it all was that after having seen the elagnt race horses, I met on my way home a whole pack of miserable horses destined to feed leeches. They were sucked dry till they died. What a contrast !...”
