On momentary pop_up(s)

"After their first brief, yet inspiring encounter in 2011 at the Australian festival Dance Massive, the artists Luke George (AU), Miguel Gutierrez (US), Heine Avdal (NO) and Yukiko Shinozaki (JP) meet again at the Meteor 2013 festival in Bergen (NO). The artists will follow the festival day by day, and prepare the public some short and unannounced performative appetizers or digestives. Watch your back!"
Just passing by, anyway, Sam Renseiw manages, nevertheless, to capture some re-located, (quite) interactive  visual spoken word field_works by Heine and Yukiko, just to exist again, in best angelus modus. [patafilm # 860, 02'58'', 55MB, Quicktime/mov- Bliptv version here)

On meta-voodle & ethos_thanatos reflections

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPad/Pod / direct streaming for PC

"States of schizophrenia are native to meta_voodle’s present-absence, its not quite-existence, its fictionalization of truth and its verification of illusion. For Kant, “This fundamental principle of the necessary unity of apperception is indeed an identical, and therefore analytical proposition; but it nevertheless explains the necessity for a synthesis of the manifold given in an intuition, without which the identity of self-consciousness would be incogitable”. Now, self-consciousness is indeed “cogitable,” but is it necessary? The axiom that communication is human may lead to individual human communicators, but it need not, since selfhood is a derivative of communication, a special effect of a particular historical mode of communication. Since self-consciousness is no longer a given but an effect, synthesizing the myriad sensations that crowd upon us into recognizable identities is also in question. I am thus never sure whether what I perceive is raw phenomenality, abstract identity, or synthetic truth."

Indeed, muses Sam Renseiw, paraphrasing from cinema effect, while capturing (pure meta-meta-voodling!) reflective dance footage produced by the local Bergen triad: Eckly, Spreafico and Cohen. On Voices in Movements, and their Images

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPods/iPad / direct streaming for PC

"... it is necessary that the perception maintain in its depth all their corporal ties: it is by voodling, it is still with my eyes that I arive at the true thing, with the same eyes that a moment ago gave me monocular images - now they simply function togehter as though for good. Thus the relation betwen things and my body is decidedly singular: it is what makes me sometimes remain in apprearances, and it is also what sometimes brings me to the things themselves..."

Continuing the ongoing inquiries on body and space morphologies, Sam Renseiw investigated the simultaneity of onomatopoetic moves and inspired writing, in the midst of Movements and their Images. On voodling at level eight_0.2

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPod/iPhone / direct streaming for PC

" What is important, is to recover our senses. We must learn to see more, to hear more, to feel more. Our task is not to find the maximum amount of content in a work of art, much less to squeezes more content out of the work than is already there. Our task is to cut back content so that we can see the thing at all. The aim of commentary on art could be to make voodles --and, by analogy, our own experience--more, rather than less, real to us. The function of voodles could be to show how it is what it is, even that it is what it is, rather than to show what it means. ...In place of a hermeneutics we need an erotics of voodles "

Witnessing the turning of the wheels of chance by the older Master, Sam Renseiw further pursues his investigations on the nature of the voodle gaze while navigating the adjacent universe of the The Oracle's Boat. On voodling at level eight_0.1

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPod/iPhone / direct streaming for PC

" The infamous Oracle has reached her final shore where a last Game will be played to her honour and in the hope of deliverance. Six luckless players will, once again, compete for their life by the mercy of The Masters and the wheels of fortune... Almost 100 years after her disappearance, servants of The Game found a small boat washed up on the Romanian Black Sea shore. In it lay a woman bearing a strong resemblance to The Oracle, who was last seen at the very same place. The boat and its contents were carried to the camp of the Older and the Younger Master of The Game. It was received there by The Game Goddess, The Masters and the weary players with awe and high hopes. Three nights of miraculous occurrences followed. Upon the third morning the Oracle´s body showed the first signs of decomposition and was then devoured by the Goddess of the Game and thus preserved for her final journey."

Entering The Game in a dusty backyard ballroom in Elsinore, Sam Renseiw, carried away, realised the wisdom of introite nam et hic dii sunt : gods do reside in the most peculiar of places. On culinary voodling with dance bits

click for video. Quicktime / Flash / direct streaming for PC

" In this way, if we repeat the principal states of Voodling, the figure of a dancer - moving a foot, in mid-air, pirouetting - will even when not possessing its own trajectory or offering a dynamic sensation, be much more like a dancer, and much more like dancing, than would a single figure frozen in just one of the states that build up a movement. The Voodle therefore can be invaded and pervaded by the essence of the subject. It can be obsessed by the subject to the extent that it energetically invades and obsesses the public with its own values. It will not exist as a passive object over which an unconcerned viewer can take control for its own enjoyment. It will be an active thing that imposes its own extremely free essence on the viewers, though this will not be graspable with the insipid facility common to all videos that are too faithful to ordinary reality. To further this study of reality multiplied in its volumes, and the multiplication of the lyrical plastic sensation of these, we have conceived a method of Voodling, highly original in its mechanical means, which we have already made known to some of our friends."

Somehow futuristic, extravagant and certainly very moving, the performance and the various dishes pervaded Sam Renseiw with an exquisite fine flow of haptic encounters.(with some quite radical surprises, though) View the culinary docu-voodle complete with concrete nipples-in-the-bowl by clicking here or on the links above. On biopsies and ambiguities of relief

click for video: Quicktime / .m4v for iPod / direct streaming for PC at Blip.tv

"The relief becomes an image of the world as it comes into existence. The relief as the point between image and space. The moment when the figure breaks free of the surface and gains its own independent life. When geological contours divide and become land-masses, which in turn change. Or when we make a decision about who we want to be as human beings."

Further investigating visual matters and related semiotics, Sam Renseiw inconspicuously recorded the in-depth flatness of surface, confined. The inhabitation of fiction - episode nine

click for video: Quicktime / Flash / Blip.tv direct streamning for PC

The wordplay / Between us gets very intense when there are / Fewer feelings around to confuse things. / Another go-round? No, but the last things / You always find to say are charming, and rescue me / Before the night does. We are afloat / On our dreams as on a barge made of ice, / Shot through with questions and fissures of starlight /That keep us awake, thinking about the dreams /As they are happening. Some occurrence. You said it.

Now one must find a few important words, and a lot of low-keyed, dull-sounding ones, mused Sam Renseiw while approached with queries on efficient women's seduction stratagems, yet only managing to utter sub-standart one-liners in return. Smaller poorer cheaper + algebra of place

"There are plenty of gasp worthy moments, humour and bewilderment to enjoy. Smaller Poorer Cheaper is pushing physical and theatrical limits, while maintaining a singular poetic and eccentric vision."

Returning from a stunning, poetic physical enlightenment, Sam Renseiw montages parts of the footage -inadvertently caught on some old tape with excerpts from The Algebra of Place - into a singular voodle: a lyrical reflection on gender issues. Woven out of syllables and images

click for: Quicktime version / Flash version

The secret was there, in those pages, woven out of syllables and images. He entrusted it to me just before he died. He made me swear not to open it until forty days after his death, long enough to allow him to die completely. I opened it on the night of the forty-first day. I was overwhelmed by perfume. I read the first sentence and understood nothing. I read a paragraph and understood nothing. I read the whole of the first page and was illuminated.

Capturing footage from a recent Ben Jelloun pro forma transformation, Sam Renseiw, followed for a moment the indescisive clothing moves of a blurred character.
