"Re-enactment is a phenomenon which has gained a footing in visual art in recent years. In this practice, historical material or material which already exists is reenacted. We know the genre from amateur actors’ staged reconstructions of dramatic historical events, battles or other acts of war. A re-enactment in art is not just a repetition of a given historical event, but also involves a re-evaluation of the historical occurrence in question, and also making it topical. The form is dependent on personal involvement and interaction, which means going beyond the precise or authoritative version of the story."

After performing a recent Reality Check, Sam Renseiw edited the gathered footage into a meta-re-enactment. View the detournement including two new layers by clicking here or on the links above. ( patafilm # 651, 02'54'' 18MB, Quicktime/mov - other versions at Blip.tv)
