The white horse's silence

click for video: Quicktime version / Flash version

" The youth walks up to the white horse, to put its halter on and the horse looks at him in silence. They are so silent, they are in another world.... That which is beyond the rider and the horse, the inexplicable mystery of the stars whence no horseman comes and to which no horseman can arrive..."

Recording a serene moment of silence, complete with youth and white horse - just rhythmically punctuated by swallow chirp - Sam Renseiw speculates on the nature of pseudo-palindromic footage bits. The horses were more real than
my father
more real than God
and they could have stepped on my
feet but they didn't
they could have done all kinds of horrors
but they didn't.
I was almost 5
but I have not forgotten yet;
o my god they were strong and good
those red tongues slobbering
out of their souls.
