On the enjoyment of reading

click for : Quicktime version / Flash version

"It lodges statements in the space of a shape and makes the moves say what the film represents….Thus the calligram aspires playfully to efface the oldest oppositions of our alphabetical civilization: to show and to name; to shape and to say; to reproduce and to articulate; to imitate and to signify; to look and to read."

Pondering on the difficulties of language, Sam Renseiw compiled some basic signmove footage, at arm's length, feeding time; View the communication attempt by clicking here or follow the indications by mousing in above.(patafilm # 345, 00'54'', 4.6 MB, Quicktime/mov - Flash version for PC at Blip.tv)

I consider stormbugs amazing body of work(s), spanning over two decades and the great parallel visual work, (both something I only discovered last year) as definitely most inspiring, groundbreaking and way ahead of its time(s); the patalab mash-ups are but a tiny contribution to the hopefully soon more widespread public acknowledgement of stormbugs...

my sincere apologies if it somehow seem that the fine stormbugs inspiration in the subsequent patalab mash-ups might become overstrained...
I simply keep on discovering new, -to me-amazing bits and pieces of that work..
thank you so much :-)
