A blurred visual note on "La Notte"

"Pictorial poetry does not differ in its essence from the poetry of the cinema or from poetry as such. In its different expressions, voodling is one... A voodle does not depict what is, but what might be revealed within oneself"

Further pondering on the extensive palette of voodling expressions, Sam Renseiw posts a nature voodle complete with garden furniture and almost full moon. Trough the passage of time

A:"Till now I have never shot a scene without taking account of what stands behind the actors because the relationship between people and their surroundings is of prime importance." B:"Film as dream, film as music. No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight of the soul"

With the sudden departure of both Bergman and Antonioni, Sam Renseiw briskly voodled un-montaged footage into a single frame. In contrast to Ingmar Bergman's massive close-ups of the face in which the subject stares straight out at the viewer and Antonioni's here on- and off-screen subjects gazing ahead at the same vista, today's voodle brings about an unnerving trifle of framed affectivity. On the instantaneous and ephemeral

click for video: Quicktime version / Flash version

"For the favourable result of voodling resides in the defeat of coherent language, in the triumph of disorder, which only on occasions becomes, in those rare moments of joy during which the editing becomes lyrical, the inexpressible goal that is sought: lyricism, that harmony between being and language, can today only be instantaneous and ephemeral"

Reality can be perceived in many ways, each one would be an individual, instantaneous, sujective view, muses Sam Renseiw adjusting to upcoming invisible reality in Metropolis with a fresh voodle. On memory and body

click for: Quicktime version / Flash version

"Stuck, then, with the transition from image to memory, the same past seized as an object now emerges without the visual glare, now decomposed as a scene comprised from the kinesthetic remnants of a blurred image. The touch replaces the eye. I do not remember, but my body does.(1) With that shift, a horizon of undiscovered experience is undiscovered."

Side Effects can take various shapes. Generous and concisely written observations, out there, in the vast blogmaze, for one; Not as linguistically and scholarly eloquent, Sam Renseiw rescued a short part of the documentation of The Invisible Reality Show, to crudely illustrate a relationship of body and memory.
