On street bric a brac and dada

"Voodling is a state of mind. That is why it transforms itself according to conditions and events. Voodling applies itself to everything, and yet it is nothing, it is the point where the yes and the no and all the opposites meet, not solemnly in the castles of human philosophies, but very simply at street corners, like dogs and grasshoppers. Like everything in life, Voodling is useless. Voodling is without pretension, as life should be. Perhaps you will understand me better when I tell you that Voodling is a virgin microbe that penetrates with the insistence of air into all the spaces that reason has not been able to fill with words or conventions."

Pondering about certain elements in Tzara's Dadaism lecture, Sam Renseiw proceeded to cut-up recent footage of French bric a brac on a Copenhagen street and an excerpt of an art video sequence into an oneiric voodle. View the amalgam with added spoken word and street five soundtrack by clicking here or on the links above. (patafilm # 620, 01'52'', 10.2MB, Quicktime/mov - other versions at Blip.tv)

Today's Bonus Lumiere Video features a tripple view on mind tricker at a gallery opening. (Lum #139,"video roulette" 01'00'', 4.6Mb, Quicktime/mov)

the funny, short, dada-like, french spoken-work sample "inupisquité" is from nurykabe > http://ccmixter.org/people/Nurykabe
and -very roughly- translates like this:

"he bruises himself, this consecrated fatty, coming from the glassworks, always telling the truth and marbling solely in his inupisquity; on the ground, the weathervane spills with cloves."

"inupisquité" could refer to the "pisquit sunwear" fashion line art project by artist daniel gonzales, also know for his floating, oneiric architectural "chili moon town" project build in collaboration with anna galtarossa > http://www.chilimoontown.com/

Wonderful! Oneiric a good description for this too. Quite magical conjunction of the everyday ( but even that is odd, Paris streets fetched up like driftwood on a Copenhagen street) and the dream.

I can never get enough of a good thing. And this is no exception.

Oh, and I've quoted you here.

thank you robert.
i am humbled...
actually, it is tristan tzara that should be credited: i just paraphrased the last 4 sentences in his "lecture on Dada" from 1922, pataphysicaly switching the word "dada" and replacing it with the verb "voodling".

yet, in all the absurdity, it seemed fitting.
so voodling is, or could be, an extended dada activity.
